You are not the problem, the problem is the problem. My role as a therapist using a Narrative Therapy approach is to learn about the tactics and agendas of these problems in order to get a leg up on them. I wonder what they've had you doing that you'd rather not be doing? If we got rid of this problem, what would that make room for in your life that you've been missing out on? We will assess your already-existing strengths and successes which can ultimately allow you to take control back from the problem.Through this process it is my hope that you will then be able to re-write your preferred story and live your preferred life. Some of the worrisome problems that we may drive out, or make smaller together are: anger, sadness/depression, temper, ADHD, eating disorders, anxiety, gender identity issues, fear, hopelessness, relationship issues, trauma, and more. I look forward to having a conversation with you and to co-writing your preferred life story.
